The Proposal of Work-Life Balance in Selected Company

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of work-life balance in a chosen organisation. The work life balance instruments are described in detail and theoretical findings are compared with reality. The thesis identifies possibilities and barriers to work-life balance of employees of the observed company. On the basis of semistructured interview and questionnaire survey, measures for optimal work life balance are suggested.

THE EMPLOYMENT OF WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP POSITIONS FROM THE LABOR LAW PERSPECTIVE ABSTRACT This thesis focuses on the issue of gender-based discrimination in the field of economic and political leadership. It explores various forms of discriminatory conduct and examines the viability of positive measures and the rationales for their adoption. Special attention is given to the examination of the institute of quotas, their impact on the current (lack of) gender equality, and the prospects of integrating them into our legal framework through labor law regulations. The thesis outlines previous attempts to introduce them, the current stance towards their implementation and some regulatory models that can be observed in foreign jurisdictions. Within a broader sociological-economic context, the thesis analyzes specific barriers that hinder women in their career advancements, such as the glass ceiling and tokenism. It analyzes the causes and consequences of labor market segmentation in terms of horizontal and vertical segregation and emphasizes the problematic nature of this phenomenon. The aim of thisthesis is to describe the implementation ofequality policy between women and menin relation to quotas as a toolfor balanced representation of women andmen in leadership positions. Despite the fact thatmore than halfof university graduates are women, their representation in decision-making positions does not reflect it.Moreover, the higher post we consider the lower representationof women we find. In relation to the identified problem, it must be said, that thepolicy for equal opportunities for womenand men has shortcomings concerning implementation of equality.The starting point and support could be a quota system which is beingpushed, as well as the equality policies,by the European Union. Its applicationto the Czech environment is not easy; it faces numerous obstaclesand rejection both from public as wellas from management itself.

Gender Discrimination of Managers

This bachelor work deals with women and men manager gender discrimination. The work is divided into two parts; theoretical and practical one. The theoretical part explains basic notions connected to gender regarding management. Comparison of opinions and stereotype preconcepts of people at senior positions is car-ried out in the practical part. The terrain data collection is based on the strategy of quan-titative research and semantic differential techniques are applied. The aim of this work is to establish what the gender stereotypes and prejudices regarding women and men managers leading or having the capacity to lead to discrimination on the basis of gender within working environment are like. The theoretical foundations together with practical processing of the work are the basis used for suggesting innovations in the psychology and sociology majors.

The thesis is composed of two sections: theoretical study and field inquiry. The theoretical study is an attempt to describe the situation of women throughout human history as well as in the Czech society; their roles, positions and tasks at various stages. Included is the beginning of women{\crq}s emancipation. Further, this section looks at the issues of gender and gender equality in Today{\crq}s labor market. The field inquiry comprises of a poll conducted among women in leading business rolls in the Karlovy Vary region. The poll asks the women about their perception of their position, and how they manage the demands of their professional and private life. The appendix focuses on four influential women at various historical stages. Polyxena of Pernštejn, designer Coco Chanel, Queen Elizabeth II. of England, and former Czech defense minister Vlasta Parkanová (interview included).
